As the summer draws to a close in the Hamptons, Serena (Blake Lively) and Nate (Chace Crawford) have everyone fooled into thinking they are a couple to cover up the fact that Nate has been hooking up with a married older woman (guest star Amick) and Serena has been secretly mourning her break-up with Dan (Penn Badgley). Blair (Leighton Meester) returns from abroad with a hot guy on her arm (guest star Patrick Heusinger), making a very jealous Chuck (Ed Westwick) question his decision to leave Blair stranded at the heliport. Dan has spent the summer assisting a famous author (guest star McInerney), but decides to head to the Hamptons to see how things stand with Serena after a summer spent apart. Blake Christina Lively was born on August 25, 1987 in Tarzana, California to Ernie and Elaine Lively. Her entire family has all been in show business (older sister Robyn is the star of cult-hit movie Teen Witch and brother Eric starred in the Disney Channel hit show "So Weird"). So it was only natural that Blake headed toward that direction as well. She led a very normal life, attending Burbank High School in CA and participated in Choir. She exceled in school. She juggled AP courses and was student council president. Her very first movie role was a small bit part as Trixie/Toothfairy in Sandman in 1998. But her very first role came in 2005 as Bridget Vreeland in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She had no real experience in the film industry so for her audition, she just walked in and handed her photo and left. The casting directors were floored. But they admitted to each other that they knew that she was perfect for the part and gave it to her. This role placed her with other hot young Hollywood stars such as Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia), America Ferrera (now star of Ugly Betty), and Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls). Blake auditioned for more roles and landed roles in teen movie Accepted, Simon Says, and a small role in Elvis and Anabelle in the year 2006. In 2007, she landed her most important role to date - as the glamorous and envied Serena van der Woodsen in a the CW's "Gossip Girl". The show recieved an impressive 3 million viewers in its first showing and has maintained about that much ever since. What lies in Blake's future? In 2008, she stars in the sure-to-be-a-blockbuster, Cloverfield, pairing her with her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants love interest, Mike Vogel. She is also reprising her role as Bridget Vreeland in the sequel for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, simply called Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. All female leads from the first movie are reprising their roles as well. Gossip Girl has also been renewed for a full season due to its increasing popularity on iTunes. Blake maintains a fairly normal life, despite starring in a big time show. She loves to bake and do all sorts of domestic things (Martha Stewart is her idol) and is incredibly grounded.
